Handyman Insurance – Knowing The Right Deductible For You

The rule of thumb with many types of insurance is the higher the deductible, the lower the premium cost. Therefore, you are taking on the risk of paying more out of your pocket later for lower premium payments now. Even though your current expenses may be necessary, you must remember the future. The question for contractors is, how much could you afford to pay out of pocket if you had to pay it tomorrow? If the answer is $5,000, you want to avoid your general liability insurance policy having a $10,000 deductible. California contractors can choose to have the same deductible for bodily injury as for property damage or have a higher deductible for one than for the other.
